What is the Skilled Nominated Visa (Subclass 190)?
Australian territories and states recruit workers from overseas regularly to Australia for work. Skilled individuals are recruited to the country through the Skilled Nominated Visa (Subclass 190) which is a points-tested permanent-residency visa.
Only nominated workers are entitled to this visa, and in some cases, successful applicants are permitted to reside in the country permanently while they work, study, or fulfil other endeavors.
What the Visa Holder Can do with this Visa?
The Skilled Nominated Visa (Subclass 190) holders are permitted to:
- Live in Australia permanently
- Study, or work in the country
- Sponsor close relatives or dependents to Australia
- Travel throughout Australia after having spent the first two years in nominating region.
Subclass 190 - State Requirements
Western Australia
- Skills Assessment
- Under 45 years
- 65 points of higher on the Department’s Points Test
- Have the required English Level
- Employment Contract (all Streams)
- 1 year Employment (Stream 1 – General)
- Relevant Qualification in WA (Graduate Stream)
- Two Year Study Requirement (Graduate Stream)
South Australia
- Skills Assessment
- Under 45 years
- 65 points of higher on the Department’s Points Test
- Have the required English Level
- Employment Contract (all Streams)
- 3 or 12 months work experience
